US Military Phone Home Free - Free Calling Cards
US Military Volunteers serving overseas now have another option in calling home for free. USAFreeCall uses the military Defense Switched Network as a backbone. Calls are routed free over the DSN to anywhere in the 50 United States.
To call home, many soldiers use the DSN to call the nearest military base nearest their home, the base then patches to the call to a local phone line. However, if the call is outside the local calling area of the base, the soldier needs to use a prepaid calling card to complete the call.
