Configuration & Dialing Instructions
Vonage supports both the Motorola VT1000 and the Cisco ATA-186 telehone routers. They currently ship only the Motorola unit but still support the Cisco unit, however, the configuration is done by Vonage and cannot be done with a unit that does not come from Vonage. There is no configuration necessary for either router provided by Vonage. The configuration is done prior to shipping and cannot be altered by the customer. You dial numbers just like a regular phone, US calls- (country code 1)(area code)(phone number) (international calls dial 011 first).

DTA-310 Configuration & Dialing Instructions
Configuration is automatic. Packet8 uses the DTA-310 router - a similar device to the ATA-186, however, it only has one phone port (ATA has 2 ports) other service providers do not offer configuration instructions. You will need your 10-digit activation code assigned when you order service. Pick up your telephone handset and dial any phone number. Follow the voice instructions and enter your 10-digit code. Your Packet8 phone number will be read back to you. You dial numbers just like a regular phone, US calls- (country code 1)(area code)(phone number) (international calls are the same, you do not need to enter 011 first).

Hardware Configuration
The telephone router supplied is a WellTech model 3502. There is no configuration required, it is done by zipglobal before it is shipped. It is about 6in. X 4in. X 1in., and comes with a small, slim power supply that surprisingly supports 100-240V, 50-60 Hz, so useable worldwide. It has 2 telephone jacks, supporting up to 2 telephone lines, but was configured by zipglobal to only use one of them for your account.
Note: Zipglobal does not support inbound calls, you would need to configure another telephone router to receive calls such as with Free World Dialup.
